Newsletter February 2025

Settlement construction continues This time, a new outpost is being built on another hill. The infrastructure at the outpost right next to the plot continues to be expanded (now with housing containers) although there was actually a court order that this outpost must be removed.
The direct access road to the vineyard is closed. The road that leads via the villages of Husan and Nahalin is now the only connection to the vineyard. This road could be closed by a gate at any time. There is now also a barrier with a checkpoint between Husan and Nahalin, which makes access to the Tent of Nations even more difficult.
Lots of visitors at the Tent of Nations Regarding the current situation on the vineyard, Daoud wrote on February 1: “It is a difficult situation for us, but we must not give up hope. We have to keep going and try not to get tired. We want to keep inviting volunteers and groups to the vineyard. The Archbishop of Canterbury visited us in November and planted an olive tree as a sign of solidarity. In January 2025, a delegation of international Catholic bishops and a delegation from the diplomatic missions of EU countries visited the vineyard. Such visits are very important to us! It is important to have a permanent presence of international volunteers at the vineyard. We currently have 7 volunteers from the USA, Australia, Germany and the Netherlands.” The press release on the bishops’ meeting in the Holy Land can be read here.
Volunteers urgently needed! Fortunately, there are currently some volunteers at the Tent of Nations again. Volunteers are still urgently needed! Due to the current situation and the entry difficulties, Daoud recommends especially older and already experienced Holy Land travelers to come to the vineyard as volunteers. A stay of at least 3 weeks makes the most sense at the moment. Therefore our request: Spread the call in your circles and networks, encourage people in your environment to go to the vineyard or consider going yourself. We are available to answer any questions you may have and will be happy to advise and help you! If you are interested in a stay at the Tent of Nations, please always contact Daoud(dnassar@tentofnations.org) first.
